Charilaos Apostolides was founded by Mr Charilaos Apostolides in its original form, in 1949. The growth record has since been remarkable and the company quickly established itself as one of
the leading contracting firms in Cyprus.

In 1969 Charilaos Apostolides & Co Ltd re-organized and expanded. Mr George Photiou, joined the Management as Director.
With his academic background in Building Management and Quantity Surveying, and his vast experience in building and contracting, gave the Company a new momentum. In 1974 Mr Nicolaos Philippou joined the Board of Directors. Mr Philippou, a graduate in Building Economics and Fellow Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, has acquired considerable experience in the United Kingdom, Cyprus and the Middle East prior to joining the Company. Later on in 1985 Mr Chris Matthew, a graduate of Economics also joined the Board of Directors.

In December, 1999, Mr Mikis Ioannou, an experienced Civil Engineer, formally one of the Company's Contracts Managers, also join the Board of Directors.

In July, 2002 further expansion of the Board of Directors was made to encompass Mr Christos Papastavrou, former Contracts Manager and Mr Harris Photiou former Construction Manager.

On the 21st of February, 2000, the Company was converted into a Public Liability Company and on the 13th of November, 2000, Charilaos Apostolides & Co Ltd was listed in the Cyprus Stock Exchange.

| On the 16th August 2004 the Company changed its name from Charilaos Apostolides & Co Ltd to Charilaos Apostolides Public Ltd. Charilaos Apostolides Public Ltd has five subsidiaries Companies;

Making full use of the geographic position of Cyprus and its proximity to the Middle East and the Gulf, the Management expanded the Company's activities overseas. In 1976, the first overseas contract was secured in Iraq. Since then, the Company has successfully carried out projects in Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Greece,
UK and Gibraltar.

The quality of work and efficiency coupled with financial capability has ensured full satisfaction of the Company's clients.

The Company is registered with the Council for the Registration and Control of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors, as a first Class (the highest level) Contractor for both building and civil engineering works.

|
Works completed, cover all different aspects of contracting from civil, tourism, residential, domestic, military, commercial, educational and recreational buildings to hospitals, roads, irrigation, sewerage and drainage schemes, electrical substations and other specialized projects, including water treatment plants, dam, conference centers, etc.

The Company employs more than 60 Engineers, Surveyors, Economists and other professionals, with a supporting staff of 77 and a labour force of 685.
|
|
It has specialized department for Health and Safety and Environmental issues and in November 2000 was accredited by BSI for the ISO 9002 for all its activities. In January 2003 the Company has achieved of registration to BS EN ISO 9001:2000.

Finally, according to the International Engineering News Report Magazine (ENR), the Company is classified among the biggest international (with activities outside their Country) Companies and was ranked 169th in 2000 and 168th in 2001.
